Get to Know Alex Kluemper, DMD, MS
Originally from Lexington, Kentucky, Dr. Kluemper is pleased to be part of Wigal Orthodontics. After graduating from the University of Kentucky’s dental school with high distinction, he was one of three dentists who received specialty training in craniofacial growth and development, interceptive and surgical orthodontics, and the biology of tooth movement during his residency at the University of Kentucky. This three-year program exposed him to various orthodontic appliances, some of which included traditional braces and Invisalign, and transformational techniques that he now uses with his patients.
Dr. Kluemper’s Accolades
Apart from his formal education and training, Dr. Kluemper is also a published researcher who received awards during dental school and his residency program. The University of Kentucky selected him to present his research at the Hinman Student Research Symposium.
His commitment to the field led him to earn a certificate in orthodontics as well as a master’s degree while completing his residency. During this time, he researched ways to prevent white spot lesions while undergoing orthodontic treatment. He is currently an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists.
Dr. Kluemper’s Life Outside of the Practice
Coming from a family of oral healthcare professionals, Dr. Kluemper’s father is an orthodontist, and his aunt is a dentist. He never actually envisioned himself following in his father’s footsteps. Instead, he received his undergraduate degree in acting before living in New York City and Nashville, TN. For five years, he attempted acting, music, and songwriting before returning to school and pursuing a dental degree.
While he still enjoys singing and acting, he mainly employs these skills to keep his two children laughing and entertained. He and his wife Brooke are happy to be a part of the community and are excited to experience all the area has to offer.
